Roger finds Jamie in a fight in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 83

Roger finds himself defending Jamie to a few people, but it doesn’t stop a fight in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 83. It’s clear there are questions about which side of the war Jamie is going to be on.

The questions of Jamie’s loyalty aren’t all that surprising. We know which side he is on, but we also know why. The people of the time have no idea why Jamie has chosen a side that his richer family members and some of his friends haven’t. It’s no wonder people want to second guess which side of the upcoming war he’s actually going to be on.

Roger is the one who makes a few things clear, while also continuing to help his own career. It looks like Roger doesn’t really need to help, though. Jamie isn’t afraid to speak out against those who don’t believe him.

The chapter hasn’t been used in the TV series, but there is a chance that it will. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.

There isn’t really all that much in the way of foreshadowing. I think the most is when it comes to Gerald Forbes, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the foreshadowing section.
