The No. 1 Malva moment in Outlander Season 6
Malva Christie is not a character to like, but that didn’t stop her having some excellent moments in Outlander Season 6. Here’s her standout moment.
When it comes to characters to hate, there are a lot of female characters that will make the list. Many Sassenachs think the worst of Laoghaire and Geillis. Now there’s another female character to add to the list: Malva Christie.
Initially introduced as a somewhat innocent young lady, it soon turned out that she was manipulative and conniving. There are a lot of reasons for this, and there is a man behind her pulling some of the strings. However, none of that makes Malva any less culpable.
While she isn’t a liked character, she had some excellent moments throughout Outlander Season 6. Here’s the one moment that stood out for me.
Malva’s standout moment in Outlander Season 6
The top moment comes after Malva claims that Jamie is the father of her baby. She knows that this isn’t true, but she can’t back down. There’s someone in her life who is forcing her into this situation.
This is clear when Claire decides to extend an olive branch. Malva is alone outside her home when Claire comes up. It’s clear that Malva wants help. She completely breaks saying “it can’t be.”
What can’t be? The pregnancy? What exactly is going on?
Claire can tell there’s something, but then Allan Christie comes out of the house. Suddenly, everything about Malva changes. As Allan tells Claire to get away, Malva turns on Claire once more. We get to see these two sides to the character. Malva wants to tell the truth, but she can’t. Rather than turning to people who would want to help her despite everything, she turns on Claire and pushes Claire away further.
Malva has dug her own grave at this moment. There is no way to come back from this. When Malva does decide she is ready to talk to Claire, it’s all too late.
