Outlander Book Club: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 74 breakdown

Lizzie and Josiah have a request of Roger in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 74

While the chapter starts with some important topics for Bree and Roger, we end up with Lizzie and Josiah finding a way around Jamie’s instructions in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 74.

It al starts with Bree and Roger spending some time together. Jemmy is there too, but he’s asleep. This allows Roger and Bree to spend time together without clothes and have some important discussions.

One of those is when to tell Jemmy that he can time travel. Is that something they should do now, or is it something to leave until later?

The discussion is interrupted with Lizzie and the Beardsley twins showing up. They have a request, and we know as readers that this is a way for the three to get around the instructions that Jamie has given them. Roger and Bree don’t know that just yet. They find out in the end.

The chapter certainly has a tiny bit of foreshadowing in it. I see it in the discussion about time travel and the part with the car. I’ll get to that in that section.

As for the adaptation, this chapter was certainly used. It just wasn’t used in the exact same way, but I really enjoyed the way it was used in the TV series.
