Outlander’s Jessica Reynolds is in Derry Girls Season 3
If you’re looking for something to get through Droughtlander, you’ll want to get ready for Derry Girls Season 3. Outlander’s Jessica Reynolds guest stars.
There is no doubt that we need something new to watch as we get through another Droughtlander. If Derry Girls hasn’t hit your radar just yet, then you’ll want to consider it. The third season has started airing in the UK, and Outlander fans there were shocked to see a certain Malva Christie show up. However, Jessica Reynolds’s character on the 1990s-set comedy was nothing like wee Malva.
The third season hasn’t arrived in the U.S. just yet. It will be coming to Netflix soon, but you can watch the first two seasons just to help through this Droughtlander for now.
Who is Jessica Reynolds in Derry Girls Season 3?
Reynolds plays a punk rocker called Wee Deidre in Derry Girls Season 3. After the episode, the actress took to social media to share her thanks for getting the opportunity to play the role. This included photos of her in costume.
We’re used to seeing her dressed up in the typical 18th-century clothing. In this Northern Irish-set series, she is dressed up as a punk rocker teenager from the 1970s. Of course that includes the dog collar, the tartan skirt, and the tights!
Yes, Derry Girls is set in the 1990s. However, the episode Reynolds was in was a flashback to the 1970s. In one of the photos, you can see “Class of ’77,” to indicate the time period clearly.
There isn’t a release date for Derry Girls Season 3 on Netflix just yet. That’s not surprising with the season only just airing in the UK. It will take a couple of months for it to arrive Stateside. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this for those ready to try something different to support Outlander cast members.
