Will Marsali return in Outlander Season 7?
Marsali is a fan-favorite character and we can’t get enough of her. Will she return in Outlander Season 7, or have we seen the last of her?
There is no doubt that Marsali has had some of the best character development in the Outlander TV series. She started off as a character to dislike and has become one of the kindest and most supportive of all.
During Outlander Season 6, we watched as Marsali and Fergus struggled to keep their marriage together. Fergus was suffering mentally, with some of it coming from the attack at the end of Season 5 and some of it coming from his disability in general. Jocasta found a way to help him, setting him up with a print shop in New Bern, and that’s where Marsali and her family have moved to.
Does that mean we won’t see them again in the series? We can look at the books to get an idea of what’s to come.
Marsali could return in Outlander Season 7
It’s hard to say what the show definitely has in store. After all, we’ve seen changes to the book storyline in the past, especially as some actors may not be available for future storylines. Could that be the case here?
Marsali does have a storyline in An Echo in the Bone, the seventh book on which Outlander Season 7 is set to be partly based (there will be some storylines from A Breath of Snow and Ashes still). That should suggest that Marsali will return during the seventh season.
However, these parts are small. They also involve Jenny, and we know that Jenny may not return. After all, Laura Donnelly has mentioned that she is done with the series. There could be a way to work around things to keep Marsali in the story without just the odd mention.
TV shows do work differently to books when it comes to keeping fan-favorite characters in. Just look at how Lord John Grey was brought back despite only being in A Breath of Snow and Ashes via letters. We’re hoping to see something like that for Marsali (and Fergus!).
