Sickness hits Fraser’s Ridge in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 60

Claire has to deal with the threat of a major sickness bug spreading across the Ridge in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 60. This is an important chapter for other things to come in the book and beyond.

When Roger realizes that the MacNeills have missed church, he shares his concerns. It’s not like them, but he’s not able to check on the family. Instead, Claire takes Bree, Lizzie, and Marsali out to the MacNeill cabin, which is where they see something devastating and dangerous.

The MacNeills have been sick with the bloody flux. Claire notes that this could be a number of diseases, and she will need to eventually get to the bottom of it. For now, it’s all about saving as many patients from dehydration as possible.

This chapter doesn’t initially seem to foreshadow anything. In fact, it’s not really foreshadowing. It, instead, sets up the plot for the next few chapters of the story. It’s essential in some major events that are about to happen with Malva Christie.

There was no way that the series would have been able to miss out this chapter. I’ll get to the way it was used in the adaptation section.

Let’s dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 60.
