Outlander Season 7: Show finally casts Adult William
There has been a lot of speculation over the years about who would play Adult William. He will be in Outlander Season 7, and now we know who will play him.
We have seen a couple of actors play the role of William Ransom since his introduction in Outlander Season 3. Jamie’s son with Geneva plays an important role in the later books, especially as he ends up on the opposite side of the war compared to his father.
In fact, William doesn’t even know that Jamie is his biological father at this point. He believes he’s the son of Ludovic Ransom, Eighth Earl of Ellesmere. That is the story his family has always told, despite most of them knowing the full truth. Lord John Grey is one of those who knows the truth, and agreed to raise William when Jamie took the pardon offered to him.
We know William needed to show up in Outlander Season 7 for the series to continue following the books. That led to a lot of speculation over who would play the adult version of the character. Now we know.
Charles Vandervaart is Adult William in Outlander Season 7
TVLine reports that Charles Vandervaart (Lost in Space) will play the role in the seventh season. There’s even an image of Vandervaart in costume, which happens to be a red coat.
Yes, William is in the British Army. He is one of those on the side to bring down the rebellion in the Colonies, and we know at the end of Outlander Season 6, Jamie made it clear to John that he is going to be on the side of the Patriots. That pits father and son against each other.
While William is an aristocrat on the outside, he has the fire of a Highlander on the inside. What could that possibly lead to in Outlander Season 7?
