Why wasn’t there a promo at the end of the last Outlander episode?
We’re used to seeing a promo for the end of each Outlander episode. Why wasn’t there one at the end of Outlander Season 6, Episode 8?
Each episode of Outlander always brings us a promo for the next episode. With the way the last episode ended, many certainly may have expected a promo. After all, that was one hell of a cliffhanger!
So, what’s the deal? Why wasn’t there a promo for the next episode? Well, it all comes down to the shortened season of the series.
Episode 8 was the Outlander Season 6 finale
We’re used to getting 12-16 episodes to the series. In fact, when Season 6 was announced, we did find out that it would have 12 episodes. So, you may have been expecting four more episodes to the season.
Sadly, the season has been cut short. Originally, the official reasoning was the pandemic. We also found out that Caitriona Balfe was pregnant, and that was another reason for the shortened season. However, the good news is the remaining four episodes will be added onto Season 7.
This is why there isn’t a promo, though. The eighth episode was the Outlander Season 6 finale.
While Season 7 is currently in production, there won’t have been enough time to get anything put together to create a mini tease for the season. Instead, we’ll have to wait for the Inside featurette for the finale, which is sure to come very soon.
When could we see the promo for the new season? We’re not expecting it any time soon. With filming only just starting recently, we’ll likely not see it arrive until sometime in 2023 at the earliest. This will mean a promo will happen sometime at the end of the year at the earliest.
