There would be nothing more we’d love to see than a short Droughtlander. Sadly, Outlander Season 7 isn’t premiering in May 2022.

Droughtlander is going to be upon us again. The Outlander Season 6 finale airs on Sunday, May 1. We’d love nothing more to find out the new season will arrive right away, but that’s not going to be the case.

We won’t get to see the start of Outlander Season 7 in May 2022. We never expected to see it so soon, but it didn’t stop us hoping for a miracle. What do we know about the new season so far?

When will Outlander Season 7 premiere on STARZ?

We’re not looking at the seventh season arriving in 2022. However, we’re also not expecting to see the long Droughtlander that we just went through. That long Droughtlander was partly due to the pandemic. In fact, it was mostly due to the pandemic.

Filming for Season 7 is currently underway. Maril Davis had previously shared that the season would arrive in late 2022 or early 2023. We’re looking more at early 2023. It is still possible, but probably not all 16 episodes.

We’re potentially going to get the same as the first season. We could have eight episodes, and then we’ll need to see a six-month break for the next eight episodes. This will be a great way to keep Droughtlander to a minimum without causing too much upset for the fans.

The seventh season will pick up off the back of whatever the cliffhanger is going to be at the end of Season 6. We just don’t know until Sunday, but we’re not expecting storylines to be fully wrapped up. In fact, we’re expecting the “who killed Malva” storyline to continue into the seventh season, while also covering the storylines in An Echo in the Bone.
