Inside Outlander Season 6, Episode 5: Jamie switches sides
Outlander Season 6, Episode 5 saw Jamie and Claire meet Flora MacDonald. The Inside the World featurette focuses on that and Jamie switching sides.
We got to meet Flora MacDonald in Outlander Season 6, Episode 5. While the Inside the World featurette isn’t quite the same as what we’re used to, we still get a look inside the episode and what it means.
Some of the focus in the featurette is on the party. More specifically, it’s about the bonding between Flora, Jocasta, and Claire. As Maria Doyle Kennedy points out, it is rare to see something like this in period dramas, but Outlander tries to add it in now and then. We need to see more of these moments between female characters.
Jamie switching sides, Brianna’s pregnancy in Outlander Season 6, Episode 5
Of course, there’s no way to get away from the part of the episode that involves Jamie switching sides in the Revolutionary War. It’s not even gotten started in full yet, and Jamie is already having to make this decision to meet with the Sons of Liberty.
That means telling Lord John Grey the truth. David Berry goes into what Jamie switching sides means, and why it’s so hard for John to accept. Jamie isn’t the only one torn.
We also spend some time at the Ridge during the episode, Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin talk about Brianna and Roger’s second child being on the way. Bree tells Roger she’s pregnant during the episode, which is great news for them. Are they doing this just to fit in with the time, though? That’s something Rankin discusses in the featurette.
Of course, there’s no way to avoid the Malva topic. What do the actors think of her character at this point?
