Outlander Season 7 will head back to Lallybroch

This is not a drill, Sassenachs. Outlander Season 7 is heading back to Lallybroch, with filming happening at Midhope Castle very soon.

If you were hoping to head to Midhope Castle in May or June, you’ll need to plan your trip carefully. Plan it right and while you won’t be able to head to the castle, you may be able to catch a glimpse of Outlander filming.

It turns out that Outlander Season 7 will take us back to Lallybroch. It’s not clear how many episodes we’ll be there, but filming at Midhope Castle is taking place over three separate weeks.

When will Outlander Season 7 filming at Midhope Castle happen?

Visit West Lothian shared an image on Twitter with the notice that filming is going to happen at the castle. This notice is important because the building is a popular spot for Outlander fans to spot and see. Booking in advance to see the building is essential. After all, this is actually a place where people still live unlike some of the other locations use in the series.

The Twitter account also shared the three weeks that filming will take place:

• May 2nd-9th
• May 16th-27th
• June 13th-20th

Full closure is happening across the three separate weeks.

Do Claire and Jamie return to Scotland in the Outlander books?

Is this a hint at what’s to come in the final two episodes of Outlander Season 6? Is it possible that Claire and Jamie will be forced out of the colonies? Are they heading back to Lallybroch?

Without giving too many spoilers for those who haven’t read the books yet, there is a storyline in Lallybroch but it’s not Claire and Jamie returning there to call it home. They do remain in the colonies.

It is going to be interesting to see how the series handles the storylines to come. Jenny is involved in the storylines, and we know that Laura Donnelly isn’t all that interested in reprising her role. She may agree to in the end, but the series may need to recast the character. Alternatively, the storyline could be twisted slightly to focus on Ian instead of Jenny, but I’m sure there are a lot of book fans who wouldn’t like that idea.
