Would Jamie cheat on Claire in Outlander?

Malva claimed that Jamie was the father of her baby. Would he ever cheat on Claire in Outlander? Is Claire right to trust him?

There was plenty of drama in the new episode of Outlander. Part of it involved an attempt to split Jamie and Claire apart. Malva came to the Frasers with news that she is pregnant, and she claims that Jamie is the father.

There were moments while Claire suffered from fever where it did look like Jamie might turn to Malva for comfort. The question is whether the King of Men would ever do something like that. Is he an honorable man, or did he do something he’s come to regret?

Can Claire trust Jamie in Outlander?

Brianna even says at one point that she’s not too sure. She thought Frank would have never cheated on Claire, only to realize that he did. He had a relationship with Sandy and even wanted to be with her in England at one point. Is it possible that Jamie cheated on Claire in his grief?

There is a moment when Claire sees Jamie at the window. Malva comes up behind him, but the vision isn’t all that clear. However, it’s a time that Malva brings up, and it does make Claire doubt her husband. It doesn’t help that Malva knows about Jamie’s scar on his leg.

We know how Malva has found out about some of these things. She watched Jamie and Claire together, meaning that she would have seen some of the scars. So, this isn’t enough evidence for us.

As Claire says, if Malva was carrying Jamie’s child, he would recognize it. Jamie is a man of honor when it comes to children. Just look at the way he loves Willie despite Willie not realizing that he is Jamie’s son. Jamie wouldn’t leave Helwater without knowing Lord John Grey would make sure Willie was looked after. So, even if there was an affair in a moment of weakness, Jamie would make sure Malva’s child was looked after. That suggests that Malva and Jamie weren’t together.

We never doubted Jamie, but it’s understandable why others would. They don’t know the character like we do, and Claire has dealt with a marriage that included infidelity. However, Claire knows the truth deep down. Jamie didn’t cheat on her.
