3 best Jamie moments in Outlander Season 6, Episode 5
Reminiscing with Flora MacDonald
We get a cute moment at the start where Claire mentions that Jamie had a crush on Flora. Well, it turns out the two knew each other. They got to play together as kids, and we see this moment of them reminscing.
It’s cute to see things like this. There is a need for these lighter moments, especially as tensions continue to rise in the Colonies.
Explaining why the Jacobites are on the Crown’s side
Claire doesn’t quite understand how the Jacobites would now choose to fight on the side of the Crown. Well, Jamie gets it. If it wasn’t for knowing how the war would play out, he would choose the Loyalist side.
I love that we see this depth to Jamie. We also get to understand why those who had once fought against the Crown would choose to fight with it when it came to the Revolutionary War. It’s also a bit easier to understand Jamie’s issues with going against the Loyalists. He is going against the choice he would have made only because he knows the future, and he can’t share that with anyone but Claire.
Needing to tell Lord John Grey what he’s going to do
He can’t just let John believe that he’s loyal. This is a man Jamie trusts, and he shows that by telling John that he is going to meet with the Sons of Liberty as one of them. This isn’t to bring them down.
John could have had Jamie arrested. Instead, Jamie manages to get John to give those wanting freedom a chance. He also makes it clear to the Sons of Liberty that he’s not interested in attacking people with opposing political viewpoints. Maybe it’s something we could all learn from!
