Outlander Season 5 is not coming to Netflix in April 2022

We’re still waiting to be able to watch Outlander Season 5 on Netflix in the U.S. That isn’t going to be possible in April 2022.

Since the finale aired back in May 2020, we’ve waited for the full season to arrive on Netflix in the United States. The season is available in many other Netflix platforms around the world, but the wait continues for it to come to the U.S. platform. The bad news is we won’t get to watch the full season in April 2022.

This isn’t all too surprising. As much as we’d love to see it, we’re not expecting the full season for another month. For now, you can watch all of Outlander Season 5 and what’s arrived of Season 6 on STARZ.

Outlander Season 5 release date on Netflix

As of right now, Netflix U.S. hasn’t confirmed when the fifth season will be available to stream. We’re expecting to get the confirmation sometime in April, as we’re getting closer to our predicted date.

The third and fourth seasons were made available on Netflix U.S. two years after their respective season finales. That means we’re looking at May 10, 2022 as the release date for Season 5. This would mark two years since the finale aired on STARZ.

It makes sense for STARZ to do this. While Netflix has been great to draw more viewers to the series, it’s still a STARZ Original. The premium cable network is going to want to keep at least one season exclusive to the platform. With how long Droughtlander can be, that means holding onto the season for two years before it’s made available on Netflix.

Putting the content on Netflix too soon would take subscribers away from STARZ. Why would the network want to do that? It wouldn’t make financial sense and would mean more content wouldn’t be produced.
