Claire spent her time teaching Malva and testing ether in Outlander Season 6, Episode 4. Here are her best three moments from the episode.

We didn’t get to see much of Claire during Outlander Season 6, Episode 4. In fact, a lot of characters took a back seat with the focus being on Young Ian and his story. It was certainly an important episode for Ian, and I don’t wish anything other considering we need the character development for so many other characters.

Claire still had an important role. We got to see her test out the ether on other patients, giving Malva a chance to learn how to use it. There were some excellent moments to come from this.

Explaining medicine to those interested in it

Claire loves to talk about medicine. We’ve seen that with other characters in the past, but she’s never really found people all that interested. Marsali was the closest, while others just tend to want her to get on with whatever she’s doing.

That was different during this episode. Not only did she have the chance to explain things to Malva, but Josiah and Lizzie were also interested. Claire was in her element, and I love seeing that for her.

A look of motherly love with Malva

There’s a moment of pride and happiness during the episode. Malva wants to know about Claire’s book, and it leads to her realizing that Claire writes things down for people like her. Claire immediately agrees.

We get to see this look of motherly love and kindness in Claire’s eyes. Sure, Claire isn’t Malva’s mom, but Malva is a young girl. Like with Marsali now and even Lizzie, Claire is that motherly figure in young girls’ lives and we get to see her hold onto that role. This is also important for how Malva’s storyline is going to develop.

Immediately going to Jamie

Finally, it comes to the end of the episode. Jamie returns from the Cherokee and Claire immediately returns to him. She missed him, and she immediately wants to be with him physically.

There have been complaints of a lack of intimacy between the two in recent seasons. It’s good to see the show try to change that even in the midst of a pandemic. It’s important to get the reminder that Claire and Jamie still want to be physically intimate with each other.
