Will Outlander Season 6 bring us the Beardsley twin storyline?

Lizzie is certainly flirting more with the Beardsley twins in Outlander Season 6. Are we getting hints THAT storyline is happening?

If you haven’t read the books, you’ll probably look at Lizzie flirting with the Beardsley twins and think it’s cute. You may even wonder if she can tell the difference between the twins at a glance, which is why she’s flirting with both of them. However, for the book readers, it’s clear that something bigger is likely coming.

Lizzie and the Beardsley twins have a big storyline in the books. They have a storyline that isn’t all that acceptable for the time period, but we get a chance to see how welcoming and accepting the Frasers and MacKenzies really are.

Will Lizzie be with both Beardsley twins in Outlander Season 6?

The flirting is there for a reason. Lizzie likes both of the twins. It’s not all too surprising when we know Lizzie has lived a rather closeted life with her dad, and she has been smitten with boys in the past. Remember what she was like with Young Ian?

Lizzie is getting to an age for marriage. In fact, she’s probably a little older than many women of the time marry. So, Jamie will want to start thinking about this soon. In the books, there is a marriage arranged with Manfred McGillivary but that falls through. It doesn’t look like this particular storyline is happening. Instead, it looks like we’re jumping straight to the Beardsley twins.

Lizzie and the twins have an unusual relationship. She loves both of them, and both of them love her. They all want to be together in a polyamorous relationship. Lizzie is married to one of the twins and then handfasted to the other, and the group has multiple children together. Nobody knows which child is fathered by which twin, but nobody (who matters) really seems to care. It’s just Lizzie and the Beardsley twins’ thing.

I do hope we see this storyline play out. There is certainly a little scandal and drama around it, but it’s just going to add a little humor to what could be a very dark and difficult season.
