Marsali goes into labor in Outlander Season 6, Episode 2
While at dinner, Brianna shows off her new invention: matches. Marsali and Lizzie aren’t all that impressed. Claire stands up for her daughter and promises to uses them. However, the lack of excitement over the matches is likely linked to everyone believing that Bree is pregnant.
There was a lot of excitement around the pregnancy. Bree notes to Roger that’s all she’s good for, and Roger points out that it doesn’t help that they have been trying for another baby.
During dinner, Marsali goes into labor. It’s a difficult one, though. The baby isn’t moving as much as it should and Claire needs to use seaweed to help Marsali’s labor push on. Roger goes out to find Fergus, giving Fergus a what-for about his drinking and not being there for Marsali.
Fergus does turn up and opts to use some tricks he learned in the brothel in Paris to help bring Marsali’s labor on more. It’s straight from the novel, and perfect to show the love these two have. Also, we learn Fergus hasn’t been beating Marsali but she has a temper and the bruises are from Fergus defending himself.
Marsali survives the birth and it should be a joyous occasion. However, there’s some bad news that makes Fergus storm out. The baby, Henri-Christian, is a dwarf. Marsali thinks he’s perfect.
