Outlander Book Club: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 57 breakdown

Roger returns home in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 57

We get to the end of Part 7 in Outlander Book 6. It’s time for Roger to return home from his month-long visit to become a minister.

The first person he comes across on the way home is Aidan McCallum. Aidan is certainly happy to see Roger there, giving us a look at that bond that has been formed. I love that we get to see how people are looking up to Roger now when there was a lot of suspicion around him in previous books.

We then get to see Roger and Brianna back together. There’s an ease between them that is certainly good to see. Both of them finding a place in the past has helped, along with communication between each other.

This chapter doesn’t really foreshadow too much. It’s simply getting things at a place of catch-up and peace for the end of another part before we get into the next bit of the story.

I don’t think this chapter is going to be used in the TV series. Not in full, anyway. I’ll get to my thoughts about that in the adaptation section.
