Claire and Jamie visit a brothel in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 56

Claire needs to treat the ladies at the brother in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 56. Of course, she needs Jamie to go with her to help with this tricky situation.

The chapter doesn’t start at the brothel, though. Claire actually starts with Dr. Fentiman, where they discuss a procedure Fentiman recently performed. I do love seeing Claire interact with other doctors of the time, and it does seem like she’s building some sort of positive reputation with some of them.

However, the chapter moves on to some of the tensions in Cross Creek. It’s clear that there are some problems arising for the loyalists, with some getting out of dodge now. There will be more of that to come, and this is certainly where most of the foreshadowing is. I’ll get to all that in the foreshadowing section.

It’s at the end that Claire is able to treat the ladies at one of the local brothels. She knows Manfred McGillivary has visited and she needs to make sure the women are looked after. However, Jamie has to work hard to get the madam to agree to it.

I’m sure some of this chapter is going to be used in Outlander Season 6. I’ll get to my thoughts on the parts in the adaptation section. There are some parts I’m sure will be skipped over.

Let’s dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 56.
