Outlander Season 6 spoilers: Who is Amy McCallum?

There were a few characters introduced in the Outlander Season 6 premiere. Amy McCallum is one of them, but who is she and will she cause trouble?

What did you think of the Outlander Season 6 premiere? It certainly offered us a great look back at why Tom and Jamie don’t get along. We also got the threat the Browns still offer after everything that happened in the Season 5 finale. Of course, we also got some hilarious moments, such as that moment with the funeral.

A few new characters were introduced. One of them was Amy McCallum. We’re usually ready for female characters to cause trouble, but will this woman be a problem for any of our characters?

We need to look at A Breath of Snow and Ashes for this. Of course, the storyline may not completely follow the book, but we’re expecting a lot of similarities for this character and her son Aidan.

Who is Amy McCallum in the Outlander Season 6 premiere?

Amy is quickly introduced as a widow. She has two young children and is simply trying to figure out how to make things work now that she’s in the colonies. She has nothing for her children, and Bree and Roger can’t help but feel for her. They want to do whatever they can to help.

For the most part, the storyline follows the books to this point. Roger does want to do whatever he can to help this widow, and this is where we get into some of the spoilers.

Amy doesn’t intentionally cause problems. Roger spends a lot of time trying to help her, and it is in an innocent way. However, people at the Ridge notice and they start talking. Roger is spending more time with Amy than with Bree, and even Brianna is noticing this. She’s angry at Roger’s actions, especially when she makes it clear that she’s fed up with it and Roger still leaves to help Amy.

Roger decides to stem the gossip by looking for a match for Amy. What about Tom Christie? It seems to make sense, but it doesn’t happen. Eventually, Amy takes over as the housemaid at the Big House and she marries Bobby Higgins.

Will Bobby be introduced into the story? It’s not too clear yet as there have been no mentions of his casting. However, it would seem odd to bring Amy into the story and not Bobby unless Amy is just going to be around for the affair gossip and that’s it.
