How long is the Outlander Season 6 premiere?
Outlander Season 6 is a shorter season than expected. However, the Season 6 premiere is going to be the longest premiere yet. Here’s how long it is.
When we learned that Outlander Season 6 would only be eight episodes instead of 12, we were disappointed. However, we were certainly excited to hear that the premiere episode would be longer than normal.
Initially, we were teased that the episode would be about 90 minutes long. That isn’t exactly the case, but it is still the longest premiere episode to date. It’s just a little shorter than the Season 2 finale episode, which is the longest episode of the series so far.
Outlander Season 6 premiere episode length
If you record on STARZ, you’ll want to make sure you’re ready for the extra length to the episode. Usually, the Outlander episodes are around an hour long. Very few have gone over the hour mark, but the Outlander Season 6 premiere will.
The episode is 80 minutes long.
You won’t be bored throughout the episode. While there aren’t any battles, there are some beautiful moments between Claire and Jamie. We also get an important flashback that introduces Tom Christie and why he and Jamie don’t really get along.
We know that Tom Christie and his family will be a part of the sixth season. He brings trouble, but not the most traditional kind. Tom and Jamie were at Ardsmuir together, but they didn’t immediately get along. In fact, it took someone in the prison to help bring some sort of unity between the two men and the followers they both gained.
The premiere episode is one that sets up a lot of storylines, another reason it needs to be so long. We’re not just looking at the arrival of the Christies. We meet Amy McCallum, we’ll see what’s going on between Fergus and Marsali, and we need to see what Brianna is going to do in the past. This is an episode to look forward to.
