Young Ian tells Marsali about his child in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 36

We get a little bit of Young Ian’s story in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 36. What happened when he was with the Mohawk?

This chapter is certainly important to understand more of Young Ian. He comes to see Marsali and Henri-Christian, holding the baby gently and lovingly. It’s clear that he doesn’t see the difference in this baby and just wants to be a loving family member.

What this chapter offers is a chance for Young Ian to confide in Marsali. He hasn’t spoken to anyone else, but he can see that Marsali needs this at this point. She’s worried about Fergus, and he has spoke to Fergus and knows a little more of what Fergus is going through.

The chapter foreshadows a little for Young Ian and Fergus. It’s just a little bit, and it’s clear that there is more ot the story to come.

We haven’t seen the chapter used just yet. That’s not surprising, though. I think this is going to be used in Outlander Season 6, and I think I can figure out the episode it’s happening in.
