Tobias Menzies will star in Manhunt at Apple TV+. Not sure if it’s going to be for you? Here’s a look at what the series is going to be about.
We all need something to help us get through Droughtlander. Manhunt is going to be a series that helps for a little. It’ll star Outlander‘s own Black Jack and Frank Randall, Tobias Menzies.
The series is billed as a limited series. That does mean it’s only designed to be one season. Of course, we all know of limited series that have gone on to become continued stories or anthology series.
Before jumping into the show when it does arrive, you’ll want to know what it’s about. Here’s all you need to know about Manhunt on Apple TV+.
What is Manhunt about?
The series follows the best-selling book Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer by James Swanson. It takes a look at the 12 days after Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, the first-ever American Presidential assassination.
Menzies will play Edwin Stanton, the War Secretary to Lincoln. He was also a personal friend, and he drove himself close to insanity in the search for his friend’s murderer. Then he needed to make sure that Lincoln’s legacy continued despite the end to his life.
This wasn’t just a hunt for a man. There were many people who offered to keep John Wilkes Booth safe, aiding him after his own injuries. We’ll get to see numerous people from history come to life in this search, including Mary Simms, the former slave of the doctor who treated Booth’s injuries.
It is described as part historical fiction and part conspiracy thriller by Apple.
There isn’t a premiere date for Manhunt. We’re not expecting it until 2023 at the earliest.
Manhunt will air on Apple TV+.
