Outlander Book Club: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 19 breakdown
Claire thinks about the fire still to come in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 19
When it comes to storylines still to come, there is one that is on Claire’s mind in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 19. She knows a fire is coming, and she’s still wondering how.
This fire has been written. Is it possible to change history? That’s something that she hopes for, but she is still worried about what was written in that obituary that Roger and Brianna found.
This chapter brings it up as MacDonald shares the story of another fire in the local area. This one is similar to some of the others, but it’s hard to say who started it. Is it possible that the Cherokee neighbors are responsible? Could Jamie be putting the family in danger as the Indian Agent?
We also get to see a little more of Bobby Higgins. He’s back, and it’s clear that he’s sweet on a certain maid at Fraser’s Ridge. At the same time, we see that Ute MacGillivray is up to something with Lizzie’s father.
There is a little bit of foreshadowing in this chapter. It brings the focus back onto the house fire that is still to come.
As for the use in the series, it hasn’t been used yet. I’m not sure it will be. We haven’t had MacDonald show up in the story yet, and I’m not sure if Bobby Higgins is going to show up at all. It might be easier just to bring Lord John Grey back to keep the cost of actors to a minimum. I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 19.
