We’re getting ready for A Discovery of Witches Season 3, but eyes are on the future of the show. Will Season 4 of the series happen?

There’s no doubt that we’re ready for A Discovery of Witches Season 3. The premiere airs this weekend, and we’ll get to see Outlander‘s Steven Cree return as Gallowglass. This time, Cree’s character will be in the modern-day thanks to him being a vampire. It’s not often we get to see the actor with a modern-day look.

The third season is going to help us through this last bit of Droughtlander. However, eyes are on after this season. What about the next Droughtlander? Will there be a fourth season of the series?

Is A Discovery of Witches Season 4 happening?

There is some bad news for fans of the witch-vampire series. A Discovery of Witches Season 4 is definitely not happening. It doesn’t matter how successful this season is. There will definitely not be a renewal.

When the third season was announced, it was confirmed that it would be the final season. The series is based on the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness. There was never the intention of going forward without the source material. The aim was to end it for the fans of the book content. There’s no risk of something like Game of Thrones happening!

It is sad for those would like to see more of Matthew and Diana. Maybe Harkness will continue the story and eventually, the show can be revisited.

The season has been written as the final season, though. It’s also based on the last book of the trilogy, The Book of Life. There is no need to worry about cliffhangers and unanswered questions at the very end.
