Is Outlander Season 5 coming to Netflix in 2022?
Our eyes are on when Outlander Season 5 will finally head to Netflix. Is it going to happen at all in 2022? There are a few considerations to make.

We need to say right now that there is no guarantee that Outlander Season 5 will head to Netflix. We don’t know the contract that STARZ and Netflix signed. All we know is that the contract was signed when Chris Albrecht was CEO of STARZ.
One thing we do know is current CEO Jeremy Hirsch doesn’t like the contract. He wanted STARZ content to remain on STARZ in the United States. He didn’t like the idea of Netflix getting Outlander, even without an exclusivity agreement. This is because putting it on Netflix takes people away from his streaming platform.
If Hirsch got his way, there’s a chance that the contract has expired. However, is he really going to get to do this? He’s not the only one making all the decisions. There are shareholders to consider.
Outlander Season 5 will likely come to Netflix in May 2022
We are looking at Outlander Season 5 heading to Netflix in 2022. In fact, we’re still looking at it arriving in May 2022.
The current contract seems to be that full seasons arrive two years after the finale dates. The Season 5 finale aired on May 10, 2020, so we’re looking at May 10, 2022 for the full season to arrive on Netflix.
It’s unlikely that Hirsch will get his way. The show has gained in popularity by being on Netflix. After all, this is the biggest streaming service in the world. Of course it’s going to help the show find a new audience! People can then head to STARZ for the most recent season. Why would the shareholders want to risk losing a potential audience?
By the time Season 5 heads to Netflix, Season 6 will be out. That will remain exclusive to STARZ, likely for two years, so there is always going to be a need for people to subscribe to the app!
