Outlander Book Club: A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 14 breakdown
Jamie and Young Ian head out to see the Cherokee in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 14
We get a chance to see Jamie in his new role as Indian Agent in Outlander Book 6, Chapter 14. Of course, he takes Young Ian along with him for this first meeting.
The chapter gives us that first look at the line Jamie is going to need to walk. He needs to keep the relationship with the Cherokee since they’re his closest neighbors. At the same time, he needs to do the job he has been assigned by the new Governor of North Carolina.
The best thing he can do is take Young Ian with him. Young Ian can speak some of the language and will have other connections that will help keep the bond between the two neighbors. However, it’s clear that the Cherokee isn’t too happy about the entire situation.
This chapter includes a little bit of foreshadowing for Jamie and Young Ian. I’ll get to that when it comes to that section.
We haven’t seen this chapter used on the series just yet. I don’t think we will see it, and I’ll get to my thoughts on that in the adaptation section.
Let’s dive into A Breath of Snow and Ashes Chapter 14.
