Outlander Season 5 is not coming to Netflix in December 2021

It’s another month, and it’s still without the latest season of our favorite show on Netflix. Outlander Season 5 is not arriving in December 2021.

Droughtlander continues, and not just in the sense of watching Outlander Season 6. For some, there’s still a wait to watch the fifth season. You may be one of those who won’t buy another streaming platform and is just patiently waiting for Outlander Season 5 to head to Netflix.

We’ve double-checked and triple-checked the list, but we have bad news. The show is definitely not on the list of arrivals in December 2021.

I know there would have been a few people hoping to see the season drop. After all, Season 3 was made available on Netflix on Dec. 10, 2019.

Outlander Season 5 release date predictions on Netflix

When can we expect the fifth season to head to Netflix? We’re not actually expecting it until May 10, 2022.

Based on the releases of the third and fourth seasons on Netflix, it looks like it takes two years from the finale dates on STARZ to get to Netflix. The Outlander Season 5 finale aired on May 10, 2020, so we’re looking at 2022 as the release date on Netflix.

There is some good news. Outlander Season 6 will premiere before this date. Droughtlander is coming to an end. The new season will be available on STARZ from Sunday, March 6. It is getting a weekly release as it always has done.

The fifth season will remain exclusive on STARZ until after the sixth season has finished airing if our prediction is right. After May 2022, the sixth season will be the only season exclusive to STARZ.

This does all depend on the contract between Netflix and STARZ. We have no idea how long that contract will go on for, and we know CEO Jeremy Hirsch isn’t a big fan of STARZ’s biggest show heading to Netflix even without exclusivity. However, the STARZ board members are certainly going to be happy to see money go up because more people find out about the series due to Netflix.

Outlander Seasons 1 to 4 are on Netflix now. All five seasons are available to stream on STARZ.
