Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The foreshadowing for me is that Roger will need to make more choices in the future that are connected to time travel. Right now, Roger has chosen to stay in the past. It was a dangerous and brave choice, but there are more brave choices to come.

This isn’t just about Roger and Bree taking Mandy to the 20th century. Roger will have to choose to go through the stones to find Jemmy when Jemmy goes missing. There is a bit of time-hopping involved, but Roger will do it to save his son.

It’s one thing that I loved about Roger. He gets all this character development. At first, he just wants to get back to his own time, but he will always make a choice for love—and it’s always a brave choice. Despite everything that happens to him, he always makes the bravest of the choices.

Adapting The Fiery Cross chapter

The chapter wasn’t used in the series. That being said, the last line was—and I was so glad about that.

Things were moved around in the series. Claire was taken by Lionel Brown in the Outlander Season 5 finale. This brought a big story from the sixth book forward, and it meant that the focus of the gemstones was moved to the focus of something else. Jamie had to help Claire through the trauma of everything that happened to her.

There’s also the thought of the war that’s coming. There’s a storm brewing, and this is what makes Jamie think of telling Claire the final line. He may not have time to tell her that he loves her, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be his last words to her if he would have the time to say them. I get the feeling there’s some foreshadowing in this, but we have no idea how Outlander Book 10 will end to see.
