Outlander Book Club: The Fiery Cross Chapter 99 breakdown
Jamie receives a letter from Jenny about Laoghaire in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 99
Jamie gets a letter from Jenny during Outlander Book 5, Chapter 99. Just when you think certain people in Scotland can be forgotten about, Diana Gabaldon has a way of bringing them back up.
No, I’m not talking about Jenny in this case. I love Jenny and happily hear more about her. Instead, it’s about someone mentioned in the letter. It’s all about Laoghaire.
Every now and then, Laoghaire is mentioned. It’s usually linked to the money that Jamie has to send her after the apparent bigamy. It doesn’t matter that Claire was presumed dead and Jamie entered into the marriage believing it to be valid. Laoghaire was hurt, and she managed to make sure he provided for her.
There is a hint that can come to an end soon. First of all, Jamie needs to deal with his jealousy. And yes, jealousy. Jealousy isn’t logical, as Claire knows. But what could Jamie be jealous about?
There is some foreshadowing in this chapter. In fact, there are a couple of moments that stand out as foreshadowing. I’ll get to them in that section of this chapter breakdown.
The chapter hasn’t been used in the show just yet. That’s not surprising. I’m not too certain Laoghaire will be such a big thing in the series in the way that she is in the books. This will depend on how long the series goes on for.
Let’s dive into The Fiery Cross Chapter 99.
