Outlander Book Club: The Fiery Cross Chapter 91 breakdown
Claire starts the process of saving Jamie’s life in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 91
It’s time for Claire to treat her first snake bite in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 91. One thing that we learn in this chapter is that Claire is worried.
The chapter is mostly focused on Claire thinking about her options. She is worried about the way Jamie’s leg looks, but she wants to hope for the best. She needs to hope that her husband is going to make it through this.
The question is whether he’ll make it through with his leg. She knows that she has to consider amputating, and Jamie knows that Claire may have to do that, too. He won’t allow that to happen, regardless of what it means otherwise.
However, the focus isn’t just on Jamie. A buffalo turns up and the women have no choice but to deal with the situation themselves.
This chapter was used in Outlander Season 5. While some elements of the chapter were changed, not a lot of it was. I’ll get to my thoughts on how it all worked out from book to show in the adaptation section.
I do notice some foreshadowing, too. Some of it is linked to Fergus, while some of it is linked to the plot that’s developing over the next couple of chapters. I’ll get into that in the foreshadowing section.
Let’s dive into The Fiery Cross Chapter 91.
