Just the Outlander chapter

Outlander Book 5, Chapter 89 takes place inside the cabin. Roger wants to have sex, but there are things in the way.

Jemmy woke up in the middle of the night. Brianna pulled Jemmy into the bed, and Roger notes that usually, the two end up falling asleep in the small bed. This is common for mothers and babies. It’s tiring being a mom, and sometimes, sleeping with the child in your arms is the only way to get any sleep.

I know my therapist says that the parents’ bed is not the place for children, but there was no way I was listening to that advice when my children were little. I needed sleep, and my husband could deal with it. Well, ex-husband now, although not because of that. He just turned out to be a Frank.

Anyway, moving back to the chapter. Brianna wakes up and realizes what Roger wants. However, Jemmy is already away and she needs to get on with things for the day. She does suggest that Jemmy goes to see Lizzie after breakfast. That’s a clear hint that Brianna is making time to meet Roger’s needs. Can he wait that long?

The good thing about this chapter is that we get to see how much Roger and Brianna are in tune with each other. I think it’s important for something that comes up in the next chapter for Roger.
