Is Squid Game something to watch during Droughtlander?

You’ve likely heard all about Squid Game. The South Korean Netflix series is everywhere, with the cast quickly gaining well-deserved attention.

It certainly is a show that keeps you on your toes. You start rooting for characters that you probably shouldn’t root for, ones you know are going to die.

The question for Outlander fans is whether it’s worth watching to get through a bit more of Droughtlander. It’s a quick watch, but is it for you?

Squid Game is nothing like Outlander

Let’s be honest. If you’re looking for something set in the 18th century or you’re looking for a love story, Squid Game is not going to be for you. The series is nothing like Outlander at all. In fact, the show is more like Battle Royale meets The Purge.

So, with that in mind, it may not be for Droughtlander. It’s not going to feel like you’re watching something similar to Claire and Jamie’s love story.

If you want something completely different for entertainment, then Squid Game is the series for you. Sometimes, that’s all you want. You need something that is completely different so you can focus on the storyline and not compare to your favorite series.

What is Squid Game about?

Squid Game follows a group of people who end up in a fight to the death. Well, it’s not really a fight. They simply need to survive a round of childhood games, and the losers will end up being killed. The fight comes at the very end when it’s down to just the last two.

This is more of a fight for survival. The characters need to figure out if they should work together or alone. They need to figure out what the games are and remember all the rules. And they need to come up with strategies to make sure they survive.

And what does the winner get? Enough money to end up out of the debt they’re in. All the characters have in some sort of debt, whether it’s just struggling to survive or having arrest warrants out for them for fraud.
