Is I Know What You Did Last Summer worth watching during Droughtlander?

Droughtlander is still going on. We have to deal with it until early 2022, so you’re probably looking for something to watch to get through it. There are tons of great shows and movies available, but where do you start?

I Know What You Did Last Summer is the most recent release on Amazon Prime Video. It’s classed as a YA horror, but it is filled with gore and probably not suitable for younger ages. In fact, it has a TV-MA rating, which is the TV equivalent of an R-rated movie.

Now the question is whether it’s something for during Droughtlander. Will it help to fill the Outlander void?

I Know What You Did Last Summer is nothing like Outlander

You likely recognize the title of the series. It was a movie in 1997 starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Freddie Prinze Jr. The series is loosely based on that movie and the original novel that the movie was adapted from. However, there are some major changes to the story, including who the teens hit and kill.

There isn’t really a love story within the movie. Sure there are hookups, but they don’t really count. This isn’t a show that will make you root for any of the couples that do develop throughout. However, there are a couple of friendships you may want to see mended.

If you’re looking for something like Outlander, this isn’t the show for you. When you’re looking for something different, you’ll want to consider I Know What You Did Last Summer. Sometimes you just want to watch something that isn’t the norm at all.

One of the good things about the show is that it’s not a complete binge-watch. The first four episodes are currently available, but there are still more episodes to come. They’ll be released weekly, giving you a bit more content to work through during Droughtlander.
