The Game of Thrones prequel series is on its way. We get the first look at the House of the Dragon series with this official teaser.

No, this series is nothing to do with Outlander. There’s one major reason we’re excited for this, though. Graham McTavish has a recurring role in the show. Just recently, we got the confirmation of his character, and now we get a teaser for House of the Dragon.

The teaser doesn’t seem to have McTavish in it. Of course, he could be in one of the suits of armor if he’s a dueler. But for now, we don’t get to see what he looks like as a member of the Kingsguard. Even the dinner scene doesn’t have a glimpse of him.

That’s okay; we can be patient. There are other reasons to check out House of the Dragon when it arrives.

In fact, there is a new Outlander guest star attached to the series. TVLine reports that Wil Johnson (who we know best as Joe Abernathy) is going to play Ser Vaemond Velaryon.

What is House of the Dragon?

The series is a prequel to Game of Thrones. As the teaser says, it’s set 200 years before the fall of the Iron Throne.

It’s the time when the Targaryens sat on the throne, a dynasty that was only taken down by the Baratheons because of one man’s love for a Stark woman. Well, there was the problem of the Mad King as well.

We’ll get to see what Westeros was like during the time when the Dragons sat on the throne. And Matt Smith’s character narrates the teaser, making it clear that it wasn’t dreams that put them on the throne but the dragons. So, we’ll likely see more dragons as they’re not close to extinction at this point in the story.

The series is based on a book. George R.R. Martin wrote the prequel Fire & Blood and you can read it right now. It’s all canon in the world of Game of Thrones.

Next. Outlander's ending will be nothing like Game of Thrones. dark
