Just the Outlander chapter

Brianna is finishing up a class with the kids. She looks forward to the end of the day because she isn’t a natural teacher, but she also knows just how important it is to teach the young girls how to read and write. Most of them wouldn’t get a chance if it wasn’t for her.

Usually, Obadiah Henderson is waiting for his sisters at the end of the day, but he isn’t there that day. Brianna is relieved. There’s something about Obadiah that makes her feel uneasy.

However, he does turn up. He’s made it back from Salem, and he decides to see Brianna after class. He notes how lonely it must be for her considering everything that’s happened with Roger and how often he’s doing other things around the Ridge. Bree does think about how lonely it is later, but she wants to get Obadiah away from her first.

Suddenly, a knife sticks in Obadiah’s arm, an arm that is on Bree’s lower back. Jamie steps out of the woods and he makes it clear that Obadiah should leave.

Bree isn’t all that happy that Jamie threw a knife into Obadiah’s arm. Jamie wasn’t actually aiming for there. He wanted the knife to stick in the wood of the cabin behind them to distract Obadiah, but the boy moved his arm and ended up with the knife there. It worked.

Jamie knew what could happen. He wasn’t going to risk something happening to Brianna, and he isn’t sorry for being a father of the time. We have to remember that Jamie is a violent man, and he is also extremely protective of his family. He knows all too well what some men can do. Brianna does too considering Bonnet. There was no way Jamie was going to risk something like that happening again.
