Just the Outlander chapter

This is a short chapter. Roger wakes to find out that he’s being accused of being a Regulator. In fact, he’s being accused of being one of the minor leaders, and that’s extremely bad news. Tryon wants to make an example of the leaders to make sure people won’t rise up again.

Roger can’t defend himself. He’s gagged and bound, and would defending himself even work? It’s hard when Buck is the one accusing Roger of everything, and Buck is making it out that he’s one of the militiamen. Would Tryon listen to reason long enough to get Jamie Fraser? It would have been interesting to see what could have happened had Roger been able to speak out.

However, that wasn’t meant to be. Instead, Roger is placed on a horse with a noose around his head. He fights against the bonds around his arms and does manage to get them free, but it’s too late. The horse is walked forward and Roger is hanged.

Roger manages to get a hand through the rope, but will it be enough to save him? Eventually, it all goes black for Roger, and we can just hope that Jamie, Claire, and Brianna will get to him in time. We’d have to wait for the next chapter to find out about that.
