Diana Gabaldon has shared another tease from Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. Bree and Jamie return from hunting in Outlander Book 9.

We’re still waiting for Nov. 23 when the book will be released, but while we get there, Gabaldon is helping us with teases. The latest Daily Lines involves Claire, Jamie, and Brianna.

If you don’t want to know anything about Outlander Book 9, this is the time to look away. We’re sharing the Daily Lines post while also breaking down some theories and topics raised.

These posts are really full of major spoilers, but they are full of minor ones.

Outlander Book 9 Daily Lines

The latest snippet seems to be toward the beginning of the ninth book. Brianna doesn’t know who Fanny is, a young orphan Claire and Jamie took in during the eighth book while Bree and Roger were in the 20th century. Bree will surely get to know Fanny in later chapters. After all, it’s hard not to get to know someone on Fraser’s Ridge.

Brianna and Jamie have returned from hunting in the snippet. It turns out they were attacked by a bear, which led to Jamie getting injured. Naturally, Claire is concerned and gets to work treating his wounds, but at the same time, Jamie and Brianna don’t seem all that worried.

The conversation is about Brianna’s brother. If you’re concerned about the “he’s the only one you’ve got” line and it being about William, Diana Gabaldon did take to the topics to explain this.

Yes, Fergus is considered Bree’s brother, but including Fergus in this conversation would have led to the conversation heading off on a tangent. It needed to be kept focused on William for this conversation, so only William is mentioned. It is not a slight at Fergus.

Jamie gets the chance to share with Bree that William now knows the truth about his parentage. It’s another sign that this snippet comes from earlier on in the book, as Bree would have to eventually find out due to some of the topics coming up in other snippets we’ve already seen.
