Just the Outlander chapter

Claire takes stock of the patients in her care. There have been some deaths from the battle, but most of her patients have minor wounds. There was one from a different company that she had to amputate, and there was another from Fraser Company where she’s had to help treat so the guy doesn’t end up completely crippled.

Claire’s attention moves to Brianna now and then. Bree is checking on patients to make them comfortable, but it’s clear she’s not comfortable in the place. Brianna is pale, and it’s clear that she’s trying not to think too much about what she’s seeing. She just wants to be there for the men.

The focus moves onto two of the militiamen talking. One of them saw his wife’s cousin with the Regulators, and they’re discussing the battle and what Tryon is going to do with people afterward. One of the men notes that Tryon plans to execute the leaders on the spot, although the men agree that Hermon Husband is a good man and shouldn’t be executed.

That sparks Brianna’s panic. Roger still isn’t back, something that Claire is concerned about. What could have happened to him? Brianna doesn’t stick around to hear more of the conversation. She wants to get out to where the Regulators are being executed. She needs to find Roger.
