The Nevers Season 1, Part 2 is not coming to HBO in September 2021

After the wild ride of the first six episodes of The Nevers, we want more. Sadly, there’s still a wait on our hands. Part 2 isn’t arriving this month.

We’ve double-checked the list of HBO releases, but The Nevers isn’t on there. We’re still waiting for six more episodes of the first season before we can even consider if Season 2 is going to happen.

If we’re honest, we didn’t expect the episodes of the Laura Donnelly-led series to arrive on HBO this month. The show is still filming the six episodes right now. Filming started in June 2021, and we’re not expecting it to finish for a little while longer.

After that, there is the post-production work. Just looking at the work that went into the first six episodes, we’re expecting a few months for the post-production work to complete.

The Nevers Season 1, Part 2 release date predictions

We’re sadly not expecting the new episodes to arrive before the end of the year. This may be surprising to some since Gossip Girl premieres on HBO Max after The Nevers and its second half will arrive in November. However, it’s all linked to filming and post-production.

Like the first season, we’re expecting the episodes to be released weekly.

The fantasy series will see a showrunner change for the second half of the season. As well as the pandemic, it’s a reason for the delay in filming. Joss Whedon stepped down and Philippa Goslett stepped up. It’s going to be interesting to see what the change will mean for storyline development and characters as that’s inevitable. Hopefully, there’s not a huge change.
