Is Outlander leaving STARZ?
If you’ve checked Outlander on STARZ, you may see a note that it’s leaving at the end of the month. What’s going on with the show on the network?
Many fans have been concerned that Outlander is leaving STARZ. They’ve checked their accounts to see that the show is being removed at the end of the month.
This certainly doesn’t make sense. After all, the series is a STARZ Original. Why would STARZ remove one of its best shows on its network? It wouldn’t, so it would suggest a mistake, right?
Well, then we looked closer at the details. The information popped up on STARZ via Hulu Channels and Amazon Channels. That suggested for a while that maybe it was being removed via the partners. Maybe it was an attempt to get fans to sign up directly through the company’s app.
Outlander isn’t leaving the STARZ platform anywhere
According to the show’s Twitter, the notification is a mistake. The show is definitely not leaving STARZ, either directly or through one of the partners. The listing needs to be updated, but that doesn’t seem to have happened just yet.
This will certainly be good news for many. It’s the only reason a lot of people subscribe to STARZ, and the network knows that. There’s no way it would want to lose the majority of its subscriber base, especially with some great female-led and inclusive shows coming up. For example, Hightown Season 2 premieres in October, and there’s a chance that those who sign up to watch Outlander will tune in for other STARZ Originals to get through Droughtlander.
By the way, if you’re in Canada, you may see that Men in Kilts is leaving Stack TV at the end of the month. There’s no official word on this, but it could be a mistake, too. We’ll be keeping an eye on that one! Considering GlobalTV secured the licensing rights to the show, it seems a little odd that the series will be removed unless it’s heading to somewhere like Netflix like Outlander does.
Outlander is available to stream on STARZ via Amazon Channels and no, it is not leaving!
