If there’s one show we’re looking forward to this week, it’s Modern Love. The second season arrives, and Outlander‘s Tobias Menzies is in one of the episodes. He’ll star with Sophie Okonedo, adding to the excitement. After all, these are two wonderful actors together in an episode.

The two characters will play ex-spouses. They have two children together who they are trying to co-parent. It doesn’t sound like their separation was initially all that amicable, but things change over time.
There’s a clip from the episode that gives us a look at the relationship the two have toward the start of the episode. Menzies’s character apologizes for turning up unannounced, but there is some joking between the two characters.
It’s clear that the two will rekindle their relationship. The trailer for the season gave us a hint of that. However, things take a dark turn.
According to TV Insider, there is a rom-com element to the story. It starts light but will turn darker throughout the episode. There are some heavy elements, but some of the focus is on rekindling a lost love, which Menzies enjoyed. It’s certainly going to be fun seeing Menzies play a very different character to Black Jack Randall and Frank Randall.
