We’re so used to seeing Menzies play darker, not-so-nice characters. Just look at both his Outlander characters. While one was not as sadistic as the other, Frank wasn’t exactly the most likable character on the series.
Yet, you’re going to see Menzies in a very different light on Modern Love. TV Insider has a sneak peek of his episode, showing a meeting between his character and Sophie Okonedo’s character.
Well, it’s not really a meeting. The two play co-parenting exes who will end up getting their spark back. However, their happiness is short-lived, not because they remember the horrors of the past but because of a medical diagnosis that comes.

The clip starts with Menzies’s character in the hallway of an apartment building with his two daughters. It turns out that one of the daughters has left her musical instrument at her mom’s.
It gives the two a chance to talk about his parenting skills. Okonedo’s character can’t help but comment on how he’s become a super dad. He doesn’t put his ex-wife down, though. He points out that he had a lot more growth to do compared to her, and she can’t really disagree.
This episode starts off light, but it does have some dark moments. Like all episodes of Modern Love, it’s one that shines a light on a different type of love compared to traditional movies and shows. This one is about rekindled love, but it doesn’t always work out the way you’d expect.
