A Discovery of Witches Season 3 is not coming to Sundance Now in August 2021
A Discovery of Witches is a popular series for Droughtlander, especially now Steven Cree is part of it. Sadly A Discovery of Witches Season 3 isn’t coming yet.
We’ve checked the list of arrivals on Sundance Now twice, just to make sure we didn’t miss the series. However, it’s definitely not on there.
If we’re honest, we didn’t expect to see A Discovery of Witches Season 3 come to Sundance Now in August 2021. After all, Cree just shared an update recently to say that he’d done some ADR work. The season is still in post-production.
What else do we know? Is there a predicted date for the new season?
A Discovery of Witches Season 3 release date predictions
We have a rough idea as to when the season is going to air on Sundance Now and Shudder. When the second season finished, we learned A Discovery of Witches Season 3 would premiere in 2022. There isn’t an exact date, but at least we know that it’s not coming in 2021.
There’s a good chance that the release will be at the beginning of 2022. After all, filming has finished on the season and it is going through post-production. A show like this does require a lot of VFX so it can take a good few months to get through post-production. However, five months should be more than enough.
This is something we’ll keep an eye on. It is the final season of the series. The decision was to follow each book in turn, and there are three books in the main series. There are some side stories, but they’re not being adapted just yet.
Author Deborah Harkness is potentially working on a Gallowglass book. Maybe there is some hope that we’ll see Cree return to the character to adapt that book if the time ever comes.
