Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The foreshadowing here is about Brianna’s struggle with the trauma. It’s still there, and she has to figure out how to deal with the nightmares that arrive. There is still more of this to come.

After all, there’s plenty to come in A Breath of Snow and Ashes. It’s clear that this is all going to eventually come up.

Adapting The Fiery Cross chapter

The chapter wasn’t used for the series. That’s not too surprising since it was all just internalized by Roger by reading from Brianna’s sort of diary. It would have made a bit of a boring scene for a TV show.

Plus, the show handled Brianna’s trauma recovery a little differently. It did show it but through anxiety attacks and the fear that Bonnet would show back up. I do prefer the way the TV show offered it. There was a bit more of a focus on Brianna in the show than I felt the books offer, but then I could say the same about the majority of characters.

I felt we got to know the characters on the show a little more than in the books since the books only really give us Claire’s POV for the majority of them. The Fiery Cross delves into more of the characters, but there is still a lot of focus on Claire’s opinions of people rather than the actual characters.
