Outlander star Tobias Menzies eyed to play DC Comics villain Sinestro

Outlander star Tobias Menzies may soon very well suit up as one of DC Comics’ most sinister villains in taking on the role of Sinestro for HBO Max’s Green Lantern series.

HBO Max is hard at work in the process of bringing Green Lantern and the Green Lantern Corps to the small screen through its newest original series Green Lantern. The series has already cast two of its core heroes with Finn Wittrock and Jeremy Irvine joining the cast as Green Lanterns Guy Gardner and Alan Scott, respectively.

Now it seems that the studio is working on casting a character who has long been one of the greatest foils to the Green Lanterns and it appears the casting team has their eye on Menzies to help bring the iconic villain to life!

Is Tobias Menzies playing Sinestro in Green Lantern?

At this time, HBO Max has not confirmed any additional casting news for its Green Lantern series; however, a new report suggests the studio is honing in on actor Tobias Menzies to play the Sinestro in the series.

According to The Illuminerdi, Menzies is currently in talks with HBO Max about taking on the role of Sinestro for the network’s upcoming Green Lantern series which will soon be beginning production. Although no further details are provided, it seems promising that conversations are said to be ongoing and as Outlander fans know Menzies is more than capable of playing complicated and villainous figures.

Should Menzies sign on to play the character, he’ll be the second actor to play the character in a high-profile live-action title following Mark Strong, who played the character in 2011’s ill-received Ryan Reynold’s led film.
