Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The chapter is more about the fun at the Ridge. It’s a chance to see everyone happy and just living life. However, I think we all feel that cloud, knowing that there is a storm coming.

The storm in The Fiery Cross is a relatively small one. There’s a much bigger one to come. This chapter doesn’t really foreshadow it all, but it does mark that sense that it’s the calm before the storm.

Adapting The Fiery Cross chapter

We didn’t get a chance to see Hogmanay at Fraser’s Ridge. Considering how little time there is in the series, that’s not all too surprising.

This chapter wasn’t fully needed, so it makes sense to skip it. We’d had the celebrations at Brownsville, which was enough to give us some lightness to the story before the lead-up to the Battle of Alamance.

However, there was one part of the chapter used in the show. Jamie sword dancing was moved to Brownsville. It was one of those perfect moments, seeing Jamie have a lot of fun.
