Why Shadow and Bone is a must-watch during Droughtlander

Why is Shadow and Bone one of the shows to watch. Let’s start with the fact that it’s an adaptation of a book series. The main part of the story follows the Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo, but there are elements of the Six of Crows duology too.

This is a series that has Bardugo is heavily involved in. She noted flaws in her original storytelling and has used the series as a way to fix the problems. There are still some flaws, but the fact that an author saw flaws and wants to fix them is respectable.

Shadow and Bone is well developed, with each of the characters getting some great moments. There’s a chance to feel for each of them, and you’ll form attachments to various characters in different ways. Jesper is fun and will remind you a little of Rupert and Angus on Outlander while Mal has some moments that will make you think of Roger (Show Mal is definitely better than Book Mal).

Of course, there’s the magic. Sorry, the Small Science. The first season just scratches the surface of the history of the Small Science and Alina’s abilities. There’s much more to come, and Netflix has given the series a chance to develop it all.
