Outlander Book Club: The Fiery Cross Chapter 27 breakdown
Jamie and Claire head to the Beardsley house in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 27
The chapter quickly picks up with an explanation of the events from the previous chapter. Now it’s time to deal with Josiah Beardsley’s problem in Outlander Book 5, Chapter 27.
As Roger takes the others to Brownsville, Jamie and Claire decide to head to the Beardsley homestead. They need to arrange for the freedom of the Beardsley twins, but they get a lot more than they bargained for.
In the end, Claire and Jamie have to make some difficult decisions, and it brings up thoughts of Jamie’s father. Claire promises to do something she doesn’t necessarily know if she can do, and it offers some foreshadowing of things to come.
It is a dark and heavy chapter. While it’s not important in the actual militia storyline, it is important for Josiah and Keziah’s storyline, giving them their freedom and bringing them officially to the Ridge. It was also important to show everything Jamie was willing to do even for an evil man.
Of course, there was no way around not including this chapter of the story. It took up a whole episode, offering a Stephen King-esque episode of Outlander Season 5.
Let’s dive into The Fiery Cross Chapter 27.
