Jamie Payne has directed two episodes of Outlander Season 6
While Outlander Season 6 will be the shortest season to date, we’re excited about the directors for the season. Jamie Payne is one of the directors.
If there’s one thing that the series does well, it’s finding directors. Jamie Payne is no stranger to the series, directing four episodes of Outlander Season 5—and they were some of my favorite episodes of the season!
One of the episodes Payne directed was the Outlander Season 5 finale. It was beautifully done, even though it was a difficult episode to watch. There were some excellent decisions when it came to the real world and the dream world Claire put herself in to disassociate herself from the situation to survive.
He’s back for two episodes of the season. Just like with all other directors, he will direct two episodes back to back as the show is filmed in blocks.
Which episodes of Outlander Season 6 will Jamie Payne direct?
The information was within a tweet from Independent Talent when the announcement of the Christies happened. The names of three directors were announced, along with the episodes they would direct.
Payne was the last of the three and will direct Episodes 7 and 8. At the time, we had no idea that they would be the last two episodes of the season. Now, the idea of Payne directing these two episodes is extra exciting since we know he does the final two episodes well.
Even before Outlander, he’d be a director to look forward to. He has a lot of experience with period dramas, including The White Princess and The Alienist. He’s even worked on Doctor Who!
We don’t know exactly what will happen in the final two episodes. It looks like the Christie storyline is going to take up the majority, if not all, of Outlander Season 6. We’ll have to wait and see.
Outlander is available to stream on STARZ.
